Meet The Team

Steffi Butler, LMFT
Owner/ Psychotherapist / Clinical Supervisor
Often we find ourselves wondering why we do the things we do, why our relationships don't turn out the way we hope or how to change the way we feel. Healing from pain and hurt in our past can pave the way to a whole and full life. Besel van der Kolk says, “Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going on inside ourselves.”

I enjoy having a wide variety of clients dealing with a range of issues. I see couples, indviiduals (men and women) as well as teens - typically 13+ years and older. I am trained in EMDR, IFS, and body work. I employ the Gottman method in couples work.
Research demonstrates spirituality is a key element to our whole healing. The integration of faith is a key part of what makes my style unique and effective.
Clients have remarked that they appreciate my direct approach and my relatability. I genuinely enjoy my clients and watching them heal and grow.

Andrew Hiemstra, LMFT
Psychotherapist
Whether you're an adult managing the stress of work or relationships, a teen navigating the trials of growing up, or a child trying to make sense of big emotions, life can be difficult! Everyone can use a helping hand sometimes and that's why I'm here. I've had the pleasure of working with children, their families, and individuals for over 10 years. Together we'll develop goals specific to your needs and identify individualized tools and strategies to help you achieve them. I employ system-based marriage and family theories such as DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I offer a warm, non judgemental space where we can work together to tackle life's challenges.

Andrew, an AZ native, comes to us with over a decade of experience working with children, teens and families. Andrew sees children, teens and young adult men.
Andrew is a husband and a father who lives in the East Valley.

Ruth Edeto-Malone, Intern
Ruth comes to as a graduate level intern from Grand Canyon University. Ruth is originally from Ethiopia, then the NE and finally landed in Arizona, where she has been for some time. After experiencing the life-changing benefits of therapy, Ruth realized she had a calling herself to walk with others through their own healing. There's a saying in therapy that you can only take others as far as you have gone yourself. If that is true, Ruth will be an excellent guide.

Ruth will be focusing on female and couple clients between the ages of 12-60. She is trained in many therapeutic models including DBT, CBT, IFS And Gottman.

There are several benefits to working with an intern. Firstly, Steffi meets with our interns regularly to staff cases, discuss treatment and support them. Interns are also billed at a reduced rate (please speak with scheduler regarding specifics). Interns are not able to treat clients with personality disorders, domestic violence or complex issues.
